Government Dhamma Sariya examinations began on April 30th at test centers in several townships around the country, while Pali Pahtaman Pyan exams will be administered on May 7th.
In the Yangon Region, 41 test centers have been set up for the Pali Pahtama Pyan examination. The State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee and the Region/State/Township Sangha Nayaka Committees together offer the Pali Pahtama Pyan test every year.
According to Tun Myint Oo, Director of Yangon Region’s Department of Holy Affairs, “In Myanmar, there are three Buddha Sasanas: Pari Yatti, Pati Patti, and Pati Vedha Sasana, with Pari Yatti Sasana serving as the foundation for the future development of the other two religious sasanas.
As a result, Sayadaws and monks in various monasteries are speeding up the teaching of these Pari Yatti sacred texts. The Pahtama Pyan examinations are held every year under the guidance of the different Sangha Organizations, with support from the necessary Administrative agencies.”
The Pahtama Pyan examinations will be held from the 7th to the 13th of May in various township test locations, with a total of 239 centers around the country.
