It is necessary to fulfill defined criteria of separate countries while manufacturing agricultural goods for commercial export.
The advantages of the bilateral agreement will only be experienced when the quality of exported crops matches the stipulated criteria, dangerous compounds are controlled, and pest control procedures are fulfilled while exporting bananas to China.
Union Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation U Tin Htut Oo revealed this in a meeting with banana entrepreneurs in Kachin State’s Waingmaw Township on Monday.
The tissue banana plants, harvesting, and packing of the bananas farmed by Longyang Company in San Khar village of Waing Maw Township were examined by Union Minister Tin Htut Oo, Kachin State Chief Minister U Khet Htein Nan, State Cabinet Ministers, and departmental officials.
Since an agreement was made between the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation and the General Administration of Customs of the People’s Republic of China, local tissue banana merchants are lawfully exporting bananas to China (GACC).
During the fiscal year (2020-2021), 800,000 tons of bananas were exported, resulting in a profit of 328 million dollars. Tissue bananas, on the other hand, are mostly grown in Kachin State, which is close to the China Trade Road.
Farmers of bananas must adhere to growing practices and use pesticides in accordance with Good Agricultural Practices.
Before the export season, banana farms and packing facilities must register with the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, and Irrigation in order to export to GACC.
