Students can use the Herbal Medicine Garden as a teaching tool.

A herbal medicine garden is being established for students at No. (16) Basic Education High School to help with the new curriculum’s teaching methods (Mandalay).

During the academic year 2022-2023, the garden will be built up to provide practical instruction for students. Practical exercises, in addition to academic teachings, give a great deal of assistance to pupils in their studies.

Dr. Than Htike Soe, headmaster of No.16 Basic Education High School (Mandalay), said “As part of the transition to new basic education syllabuses, our school would need to establish a herbal medicine garden.

Students of the next generation must learn about herbal plant species in a methodical manner, and it is critical to understand how to use these plants.

Our country has the most precious tree species, which we should protect. It would be a great honor for our school to have this garden, and we want to use it to deliver a wealth of information and advantages to our children.”

The University of Traditional Medicine and botanical specialists from the universities are assisting in the establishment of the Herbal Medicine Garden.

Dr. Than Htike Soe, headmaster of No.16 Basic Education High School (Mandalay), said “Different medicinal plant species are sorted out methodically with the support of specialists from Botany Departments and the University of Traditional Medicine.

These methods are also assisted by teachers, personnel, and students’ parents. This garden can supply references for school classes from kindergarten to high school levels if you need to study therapeutic plants.”This herbal medicine garden has over 75 different medicinal plant species to study.
